Race To Dubai update: Top 10 through May 10th, 2017
By Gary Healy
In the number 10 slot, we have Fabrizio Zanotti out of Paraguay. So far this season, Zanotti has notched two top 10’s in seven starts, including his win at the Maybank Championship in February. This victory was key to his top-10 ranking, as was his T-5 at the Shenzhen last month and his T-12 at the new WGC-Mexico Championship.
Zanotti opened up the season with three straight missed cuts but has been on a tear in his last four events. In the last three months, he has made four straight cuts and racked up all 700,751 of his Race to Dubai points. If Zanotti can keep up this hot hand he’s had lately, he’ll be sure to stay inside the top 10 on the points list as the season progresses.
While Zanotti has been playing well as of late, players just outside the top 10 such as Levy and Edoardo Molinari are charging hard. After Levy’s win last week, he’s just one spot and roughly 20,000 RTD points away from catching Zanotti. Zanotti is not playing in the next two tournaments on the European Tour, but hopefully, if he wants to retain that top-10 position, he’ll be back out playing soon.
