Paula Creamer’s waggle is even more subtle than Bubba Watson’s – in this video clip, one brief wag of the club head. And it’s probably worth noting that while Creamer’s swing looks smooth and fluid, she struggles with shot-making accuracy. It’s the great weakness in her game.

She currently ranks 143rd on the Tour in driving accuracy and 35th in GIR. While it’s difficult to sort out the factors involved in The Pink Panther’s descent from her dominance of the women’s game a decade ago it’s clear that she’s lost shotmaking power and accuracy since her 4-win 2008 season.

If Hogan is right – that the waggle stores energy much like a dynamo – then Creamer, like Bubba Watson, may need to reassess swing technique. Is it possible that Creamer’s game would benefit from greater waggle precision? Would that modification disrupt her rhythm?
