AT&T Byron Nelson: Top 5 DraftKings fantasy picks
By Sam Belden
Graham DeLaet — $7,600
This Canadian is having a strange season — it seems that every time he tees it up, he either finishes inside the top 25 or misses the cut. That extreme inconsistency makes DeLaet a risky fantasy play for this week, but going by his track record at TPC Four Seasons, he could also provide massive value.
DeLaet has gone four-for-six in his career at the AT&T Byron Nelson, a history highlighted by his tie for 10th in 2013 and his tie for seventh one year later. He did miss the cut in last year’s edition, but that was when he was struggling on the greens. This year, it’s a completely different story — he currently ranks 23rd on the PGA Tour in strokes gained: putting, so he should be able to roll them in this week. With three missed cuts and a tie for sixth at the RBC Heritage, his last four starts have been a mixed bag, but his experience at this week’s venue should make things easier.
Statistically, DeLaet is playing better than ever this season — it’s just a matter of stringing the good rounds together. He should have an opportunity to do just that at TPC Four Seasons, and at just $7,600 in DraftKings, the 35-year-old is a sensible investment.
