Billy Hurley III — $6,900

This Navy veteran has provided us with inspirational stories and thrilling shots over the past few years, but he hasn’t done much to establish himself as a consistent fantasy option. He may be a deep sleeper for this week’s event, but if you’re looking to take a gamble on a long shot winner, there are plenty of reasons to keep an eye on Hurley.

Hurley isn’t known for his consistency, but as a survivor of four consecutive cuts, his stock is relatively high this week. That run includes a tie for eighth at the Wells Fargo Championship, where he shot four rounds of par or better, as well as a tie for 41st at the demanding PLAYERS Championship. In terms of course history, Hurley has been solid at TPC Four Seasons, having qualified for the weekend in each of his last three trips to Las Colinas. He also tied for 16th at the 2014 AT&T Byron Nelson, so he’s risen to the occasion in the past.

Hurley will almost certainly not win this week, but at just $6,900 in DraftKings, it’s worth seeing if he can keep his momentum going and notch another top 25. He has the potential to be an ideal fantasy flier.
