No. 5 Julian Suri

It would be easy to pick last week’s Portugal Open winner Matt Wallace somewhere in this list. Unless your name is something like Rory, Dustin or Jordan, though I’m not a believer in picking players to win in back-to-back weeks.

Instead, give me the hungry runner-up, American Julian Suri. The 26-year-old Duke collegian jumped 663 spots in the OWGR to No. 479. He’s made just 11 starts worldwide in limited opportunities dating back to late 2015, but he’s made the most of them with nine made cuts.

He was relatively long and straight in Portugal last week, traits that should bode well for success at Verdura.
