Rocco Forte Open: Top Five Power Rankings
No. 2 James Morrison
If any under-the-radar player is poised for his first win in 2017, it’s Englishman James Morrison.
All he’s done in his past seven events is place T31 or better with two top-10s. He’s averaging 69.94 strokes this season and hitting 70.71 percent of greens in 2017, a good sign when the latter is greater than the former.
He’ll be playing alongside 2018 Ryder Cup captain Thomas Bjorn. Official qualifying doesn’t begin until August, nor is Morrison a serious contender for a spot at this stage, but another good start here in front of the captain could at least put him on Bjorn’s radar.
