2007 Champion – Angel Cabrera

The 47-year old Argentine may be the driving force behind Tiger’s obsessive quest to win the 2008 Open. Cabrera edged out Tiger and Jim Furyk at the 2007 Oakmont Championship by one stroke.

It was Cabrera’s first PGA TOUR victory and his first major championship title – his green jacket came the following year – and he won the 2007 U.S. Open without finding red numbers. abrera finished at +6, Tiger and Furyk at +6.  The entire field struggled that year.

Cabrera is as well-known and much-loved for his wins on the PGA TOUR Latinoamérica as he is among United States golf fans and he’s a staple at The Presidents Cup.
