Jessica Korda: Rolex Rank – 23, Race to the CME Globe – 21

The decisions should get easier when we take a look at the Group 2 list, but not by much. First, there are the Solheim Cup hopefuls – Carlota Ciganda, Karine Icher, Caroline Masson, Azahara Munoz, Jodi Ewart Shadoff for Team Europe – Jessica Korda, Brittany Lincicome, Angela Stanford, Austin Ernst, Michelle Wie, Lizette Salas for Team USA. I’d be very surprised to see any of this set of players miss the cut. They’re playing for a spot at Des Moines and they know it. Each one would be a solid pick for your fantasy team.

Candie Kung, Moriya Jutanugarn, and Pornanong Phatlum are all playing well and are good bets to make the cut so if you have a soft spot for one of them, don’t hesitate.

United States rookie Angel Yin poses some interesting possibilities, particularly if you’re looking to boost your points with a successful long shot pick. Yin is running hot and cold (more hot than cold, I think) but those 2 consecutive T5 finishes at the Texas Shootout and the Lorena Ochoa Match Play have me blinking my eyes. Then I look at her T58 finish at the Kingsmill and take a step back.

I’m going with Jessica Korda for two reasons. First, with the exception of a final round bobble at the Kingsmill last Sunday, her game has been trending in the right direction since that missed cut at the Kia Classic in March. Second, she came close last year at the inaugural Volvik Championship (T3) – she’s coming to the tee with her eyes on the top of the board.
