John Huh — No. 195

This former Rookie of the Year has had a fairly quiet season, making his share of cuts but failing to make much noise on the weekend. Still, there’s plenty to like about Huh’s game at the moment, especially in light of the two sub-70 rounds he shot at last week’s AT&T Byron Nelson. While he ultimately faded on Sunday, he showed us enough to make a modest case for his chances at the Dean and DeLuca Invitational.

It’s been more than 10 weeks since Huh’s best finish of the season, an impressive tie for ninth at the Valspar Championship, but he’s managed to hold his own since then, rising to the 195th spot in the Official World Golf Ranking. This week presents him with an opportunity to climb even higher — in his career, Huh has gone three-for-five at Colonial, notching a tie for fifth in 2012, a tie for 11th in 2013 and a solo 18th in 2015. The course demands accuracy, and at 36th on the PGA Tour in driving accuracy and 54th in strokes gained: approach-the-green, he should be up to the task.

Huh has the course history to make a major impact this week, so be sure to keep an eye on him. He may lack name recognition, but he does have plenty of upset potential.
