Kisner played electric golf en route to his Colonial victory, especially with his shorter clubs — he ranked second in the field in strokes gained: around-the-green and third in strokes gained: putting, making for a devastating one-two punch from close range. The win should get some momentum back on his side; it was his first top 50 since the RBC Heritage in mid-April. His track record at the Memorial Tournament is a mixed bag, but with a tie for eighth in the 2015 edition, he knows what it takes to tame the course.

Kisner is probably still more famous for his near-misses than his victories, but the point is that he continues to put himself in position to win.
