This South Carolina native won just last week at the Dean & DeLuca Invitational, but don’t expect him to stop there. The way he’s been hitting it lately, Kisner looks like he could pile up a whole bunch of trophies, so be sure to keep an eye on his scores at Muirfield Village this week.

Kisner played electric golf en route to his Colonial victory, especially with his shorter clubs — he ranked second in the field in strokes gained: around-the-green and third in strokes gained: putting, making for a devastating one-two punch from close range. The win should get some momentum back on his side; it was his first top 50 since the RBC Heritage in mid-April. His track record at the Memorial Tournament is a mixed bag, but with a tie for eighth in the 2015 edition, he knows what it takes to tame the course.

Kisner is probably still more famous for his near-misses than his victories, but the point is that he continues to put himself in position to win. With the U.S. Open just around the corner, he couldn’t have picked a better time to peak. Let’s see how he performs in the wake of his long-awaited second title.
