With Henrik Stenson and Alex Noren both in the field this week, the Nordea Masters could end up as a battle between favorite sons.

The Nordea Masters, the next stop on the European Tour schedule, takes the field to Barseback Golf & Country Club in Malmö, Sweden. It’s a beautiful track that’s drawn praise from a number of the game’s luminaries – among them Jack Nicklaus, Annika Sorenstam, Sir Nick Faldo and Colin Montgomerie.

The weather will be a bit chilly but otherwise perfect for golf, with daytime temperatures in the mid-60s, light winds and sun. There’s very little chance of anything more than a few scattered showers. That’s good news for players and fans alike.

Matt Fitzpatrick will be defending his title against a robust field and some among them are going to be looking for some measure of redemption after Alex Noren’s come-from-behind BMW PGA Championship win last week at Wentworth Golf Club. Expect locally-popular Henrik Stenson to lead the charge to unseat the young Englishman and expect him to have some help from Denmark’s Thomas Bjørn, among others.

Let’s take a look at the top of the Nordea Masters field. Who is most likely to find success this week in Sweden? I’ll start with a trio of long shots.
