1. Dustin Johnson

2,270 points, 10 events (227 avg.)

Three wins, six top-tens

Last two weeks: T13 AT&T Byron Nelson, DNP Dean and Deluca Invitational

While some of Johnson’s closest contenders, like Matsuyama and Thomas, took some extra rest time, DJ appears content to stick to as much of a normal schedule as he possibly can. Frankly, with the results he’s been putting up, how do you argue with that? Things have been going so well for Johnson this year that he could tell me he meant to miss The Masters, and I’d have to believe that it was all part of the plan.

Here’s the scary part – we might not have even seen Johnson’s best yet. In the summer of 2016, starting at the Memorial, DJ ran off six straight top-tens, including his U.S. Open victory and the WGC-Bridgestone. If he even comes close to replicating that run over the next seven or eight weeks, nobody will be able to touch him until the Tour Championship reset.

Next: U.S. Open: Early betting odds

There’s a ton of time between now and then, of course, but that’s just an illustration of DJ’s pure dominance. He’s had a great year already, and it’s hardly even halfway over. Until someone comes and catches him more than once or twice, we just need to sit back and enjoy the show.
