It looks like a week off was all Kevin Kisner needed to get his mojo back. Kisner enjoyed a run of five top-25 finishes between the WGC-Mexico Championship and the Zurich Classic, including two runner-up showings. With his win at Colonial, and the 500 FedEx Cup points that come with it, Kisner jumped from 17^th to 7^th in the season-long points race, and with his volume of play, he can definitely remain there.

One need look no further than Sunday’s final leaderboard from Colonial to see what Kisner’s accomplishment means. In winning last week, Kisner held off two of the best players on the planet today, Jon Rahm and Jordan Spieth. It would be easy to say that the runners-up simply missed the putts that would have won them the tournament. I prefer to give credit to Kisner for making the putts that did win it for him.

Statistically, Kisner isn’t ranked any lower than 34^th on Tour in any of the Strokes Gained categories that are recorded. What he lacks in power, he more than makes up for in accuracy, hitting nearly 70% of his fairways. That can make him dangerous at Erin Hills, where errant drives will be punished severely.
