Alexander Levy — No. 75

This Frenchman isn’t the most consistent player in the world, but he does excel at one thing: winning. Since arriving on the European Tour in 2013, Levy has had the pleasure of hoisting four trophies, including one at the Volvo China Open less than six weeks ago. With that kind of winning experience and momentum, it looks like he’s capable of making a spirited run in what will be his second U.S. Open start.

Beyond his win, Levy has accumulated two other top 10 finishes in 2017: a solo fourth at the Maybank Championship and a tie for eighth at the Shenzhen International. That makes him one of the hotter European players in the field, so you’d think there would be at least a bit of buzz surrounding his chances, but the 26-year-old is a relative unknown on this side of the pond, which should allow him to play without the extra pressure. His lone previous start at the U.S. Open came at Chambers Bay, where he tied for 27th.

Levy may have a low public profile in the states, but that could change by the end of this year’s U.S. Open. Let’s see if he can take his winning habits to the next level.
