St. Jude Classic: Power Rankings for TPC Southwind

We’ve been seeing quite a bit of this 12-time PGA TOUR winner in recent weeks — like last year, he’s begun to ramp up his schedule in preparation for the busy summer stretch of majors and postseason events. Stricker got a great result at last year’s FedEx St. Jude Classic, so look for him to make it back-to-back successes at TPC Southwind this week.

Stricker’s good results from this season include a tie for 16th at The Masters and a tie for seventh at the Dean and DeLuca Invitational; he’s also missed just one cut in seven events. As has been the case throughout his career, he’s been buoyed by his precision and short game, leading the PGA TOUR in driving accuracy and ranking 21st in strokes gained: putting. He came within a hair of the victory at last year’s St. Jude Classic, shooting three rounds in the 60s thanks to a great week off the tee.

Stricker’s positive track record at TPC Southwind makes him one of the top players to watch this week. More than five years have passed since he hoisted his last PGA TOUR trophy, but you never know with this ageless wonder — he could take the whole thing.
