St. Jude Classic: DraftKings picks for TPC Southwind

The U.S. Open is right on the horizon, but before we get to that, we’ve got a great event to deal with in the FedEx St. Jude Classic.

The FedEx St. Jude Classic is the last PGA TOUR event standing between us and the second leg of the major season, and while you might be tempted to tune out for a few days and refocus in time for the national open, we should still be in for some compelling golf this week.

For fantasy managers, this week’s event represents the calm before the storm. Erin Hills will be crawling with unheralded international players, Web.com Tour grinders and amateur prodigies — year after year, it all adds up to one of the most eclectic fields in golf. Even with yesterday’s open qualifiers bringing some more clarity to the situation, it will still be a bit overwhelming to sift through all the unfamiliar names and craft a halfway decent fantasy lineup, so don’t take the relative ease of this week for granted.

That said, this week’s field isn’t perfect — for one thing, it’s a bit lacking in elite players. You’ll probably need to go with some lesser-known names at the bottom of your lineup.
