Chad Campbell (OWGR – 176th)

Chad Campbell doesn’t get a ton of love from week to week on the PGA TOUR, but when he finds his spots, he takes advantage.

In my sleeper picks for the AT&T Byron Nelson, I had Campbell pegged for a strong finish despite a string of three straight missed cuts. He brings the same type of workman-like energy to TPC Southwind that he brought to the Nelson and that can only help.

Since 2010, Campbell has made the cut at the FedEx St. Jude Classic every year, breaking into the top 10 in 2012 (T-3) and 2015 (T-8). There are plenty of guys who can be called a “horse for a course”, and once again, Campbell fits that bill here in Memphis.

The statistics bear it out, too. Campbell still sits 24th in fairway percentage, and 42nd on TOUR in greens in regulation. While Campbell often lacks true precision, he has been deadly from the 100-150 yard range on approach. If he’s hitting his numbers this week, Campbell could fight for his first title in nearly a decade.
