The Meijer LPGA Classic takes the LPGA Tour from Cambridge, Ontario just a little bit south, to Grand Rapids, Michigan.  Sei Young Kim is the defending champion for the 4th edition of the Meijer LPGA Classic, where she notched her fifth Tour victory when she stuffed her approach to about three feet and then calmly tapped in for birdie in a sudden death playoff against Carlota Ciganda.

It was an exciting finish and one we saw repeated last week when Ariya Jutanugarn rolled what looked to be an impossibly long putt for birdie in another sudden death playoff at the Manulife LPGA Classic to claim her 6th Tour victory.

Which brings us full circle to this week’s contest at Blythefield Country Club in Grand Rapids. The par-71 track will play 6451 yards and if history is a good predictor of the future, we can expect to see some big red numbers on the leaderboard come Sunday.

The Meijer LPGA Classic and the WalMart NW Arkansas Championship next week will provide the final tune-up for players looking to make their mark at the Tour’s second major of the season the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship. I’ll be watching the Meijer field closely to see who seems to be dialed in with her short game. That’s what’s made the difference between the winner and the runner-up three weeks running.

That said, here’s how I see the Meijer LPGA Classic field breaking down in terms of their power rankings.
