Matthew Campbell (N/A)

  • Last start: N/A
  • 2016 U.S. Open: DNP

This 28-year-old New York native doesn’t really have a big resumé to speak of. He spends his time on the mini-tours but has qualified for the U.S. Open for the second consecutive year. He withdrew last year with a back issue.

Walker Lee (a) (No. 781-World Amateur Golf Ranking)

  • Last start: T-3: Terra Cotta Invitational
  • 2016 U.S. Open: DNP

19-year-old lefty Walker Lee is fresh out of high school and is set to play for Texas A&M this coming season, a school he committed to when he was in eighth grade. He shot 10-under at the Dallas sectional to earn his trip to Erin Hills.

Garrett Osborn (No. 1927)

  • Last start: MC: FedEx St. Jude Classic (PGA TOUR)
  • 2016 U.S. Open: DNP

Garrett Osborn was a late bloomer, not picking up the game until just before he entered college but the 32-year-old now finds himself in the U.S. Open for the first time. He’s missed the cut in all four tournaments he’s entered in 2017.

Daniel Miernicki (No. 1729)

  • Last start: MC: BMW Charity Pro-Am (Web.com Tour)
  • 2016 U.S. Open: DNP

2017 was Daniel Miernicki’s third attempt at qualifying for the U.S. Open and he finally made it, surviving a 4-for-1 playoff in Lakewood, WA. The 27-year-old, who played collegiately at the University of Oregon, has missed the cut in three of the four Web.com Tour events in which he’s played this year.

Sahith Theegala (a) (No. 1392 — No. 108-World Amateur Golf Ranking)

  • Last start: T-19: NCAA D1 Championship-Stroke
  • 2016 U.S. Open: DNP

19-year-old Pepperdine sophomore Sahith Theegala is a player to watch. He made eight birdies in 11 holes during his second round of qualifying in California on his way to a 65 and has a PGA TOUR finish to his credit. He qualified for the Genesis Open earlier this year and tied for 49th.

Tyler Light (No. 1927)

  • Last start: MC: SIGA Dakota Dunes Open (Mackenzie Tour-PGA TOUR Canada)
  • 2016 U.S. Open: DNP

26-year-old Tyler Light, who spends the majority of his time teeing it up on the Mackenzie Tour, was the first alternate out of the Springfield, Ohio sectional and will playing in his first U.S. Open. It’s rare that the two professionals are ranked lower than the amateur in a threesome but that’s the case here.

Let’s take a look at the groups who will be teeing it up in the afternoon on Day 1.
