David Lingmerth (No. 110)

  • Last start: T-15: the Memorial Tournament (PGA TOUR)
  • 2016 U.S. Open: 12th

David Lingmerth has played twice in the U.S. Open and has fared quite well. He finished in a tie for 12th last year at Oakmont and tied for 17th in his debut at Merion in 2013. His biggest professional win came at the 2015 Memorial and he qualified for Erin Hills via the Columbus sectional.

Paul Dunne (No. 171)

  • Last start: MC: Nordea Masters (European Tour)
  • 2016 U.S. Open: DNP

Paul Dunne was able to escape a 7-for-4 playoff at the Surrey sectional and will make his U.S. Open debut on Thursday morning. The 24-year-old Irishman is best known for taking a 54-hole lead into the final round of the Open Championship as an amateur in 2015 at St. Andrews. Unfortunately, he shot a final-round 78 to finish in a tie for 30th but the UAB product is set for the big stage once again and has climbed more than 700 spots in the Official World Golf Ranking since that day.

Haotong Li (No. 128)

  • Last start: T-26: Nordea Masters (European Tour)
  • 2016 U.S. Open: DNP

Haotong Li, the 21-year-old from the People’s Republic of China, already has five professional victories, including the Volvo China Open last year. He’s finished no lower than 30th in his last four European Tour events and will be making his first appearance at the U.S. Open following a 13-under performance at the Surrey sectional.

Jeunghun Wang (No. 61)

  • Last start: T-8: Nordea Masters (European Tour)
  • 2016 U.S. Open: DNP

After winning the PGA TOUR China’s inaugural event as a teenager in 2014, Jeunghun Wang has ridden that momentum to become one of the top players in the world. He won three European Tour events in 2016 and will look to show off his skills in his very first U.S. Open.

Thomas Aiken (No. 183)

  • Last start: MC: Rex Hospital Open (Web.com Tour)
  • 2016 U.S. Open: MC

If nothing else, Thomas Aiken can say that he’s first at the U.S. Open… as far as alphabetical order is concerned. In all seriousness, the 33-year-old is making his third consecutive U.S. Open start. He missed the cut at Oakmont in 2016 but had a solid T-25 finish at Chambers Bay two year ago after a final-round 66.

Bradley Dredge (No. 120)

  • Last start: T-15: Nordea Masters (European Tour)
  • 2016 U.S. Open: DNP
  • 43-year-old Bradley Dredge has 11 major championship starts but this will be his first appearance at the U.S. Open. His best major finish came at the Open Championship in 2010 at St. Andrews when he tied for 27th and the Welshman will look to make his mark on this side of the pond after an 11-under performance at the Surrey sectional.
