Stewart Hagestad (a) (No. 1021 — No. 42-World Amateur Golf Ranking)

- 2016 U.S. Open: DNP
The low amateur at the 2017 Masters, 2016 Mid-Amateur champion Stewart Hagestad will look to continue his hot streak at Erin Hills in his first U.S. Open appearance. He shot 8-under in the Newport Beach sectional to qualify.
Chez Reavie (No. 140)
- Last start: T-4: FedEx St. Jude Classic (PGA TOUR)
- 2016 U.S. Open: DNP
It’s been five years since 35-year-old Chez Reavie teed it up at the U.S. Open and 14 years since his first appearance at this tournament –his best finish was a tie for 45th at Congressional in 2011 — but he’s coming in with momentum after a T-4 finish in Memphis this past weekend at the FedEx St. Jude Classic.
Gene Sauers (No. 6-Official Senior World Golf Ranking)
- Last start: T-29: Principal Charity Classic (Champions Tour)
- 2016 U.S. Open: DNP
54-year-old Gene Sauers hasn’t played the U.S. Open in three decades — his last appearance was in 1987 at The Olympic Club when he tied for 58th — but a victory at the Senior Open got him into the field. Sauers is likely just glad to be playing golf after a skin disease kept him away from competitive golf for nearly five years.

Scott Harvey (a) (No. 49-World Amateur Golf Ranking)

39-year-old amateur Scott Harvey made his way to Erin Hills via the Summit, NJ qualifier, where he shot a course-record 63 on the North Course. He was the runner-up to Stewart Hagestad at the 2016 Mid-Amateur.
Jamie Lovemark (No. 96)
- Last start: T-10: the Memorial Tournament (PGA TOUR)
- 2016 U.S. Open: DNP
Jamie Lovemark, who has had numerous top-10 finishes on the PGA TOUR but hasn’t quite broken through is playing some solid golf. He finished tied for 18th at the Byron Nelson and tied for 10th at the Memorial on his way to his second U.S. Open appearance. He finished tied for 18th at Chambers Bay in 2015.
Michael Putnam (No. 1021)

After being the only one not to make the field from the 4-for-3 playoff in Columbus, Michael Putnam snuck into the U.S. Open when Ryan Moore withdrew with a shoulder injury. He has three career victories, all on the Web.com Tour, and will be making his fifth appearance at the U.S. Open. His best finish was a tie for 45th at Congressional in 2011.
