Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands provides a star-studded field for this week’s power rankings

The Travelers Championship, coming the week after a major championship, could be a time of rest and recovery for golf’s biggest stars. These are players who spend their entire year focused on the four most prestigious events in the game. It’s understandable that they’d want a little extra time for some rest and relaxation. This week, however, the Travelers Championship hosts three of the world’s top six players, and many more big names.

While it’s not a name destination on the PGA TOUR schedule, TPC River Highlands is a solid track in its own right. Though it reaches just a hair over 6,800 yards – one of the shorter courses on Tour – the par-70 still provides its own drama.

Shot-making on approach will be at a premium this week. A par-70, scores have often reached into the low 60s, with the winning score at -20 or better twice in the last eight years. Last year, Jim Furyk shot the first-ever 58 in PGA TOUR history, breaking 60 for the second time in his career.

This week’s power rankings will be taking a look at many of the big stars in this week’s field, including one who has stamped his name on this tournament’s history multiple times. Let’s take a look at my top 10 favorites for the Travelers Championship.
