Patrick Reed Travelers Championship Power Rankings

Reed endured a pretty tough run earlier this year. From February through April, he had just one top-25 finish in eight starts, and he missed three straight from Houston, Augusta and San Antonio.

However, things have started to click for Reed once again, and the momentum he’s building is all positive. Dating back to the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, Reed has five top-25s in his last six starts. While he hasn’t broken through with a truly dazzling performance yet, the Travelers Championship is a perfect time for him to do so.

At Erin Hills this past week, Reed ranked tenth in strokes gained: putting, and led the field in strokes gained: around the green. While his approaches to the green aren’t flawless by any means, he’s showing an improved confidence that will only grow as he continues to play.

If nothing else, Reed can always channel some of his inner Captain America and break out the Ryder Cup team pants like he did on Saturday at the U.S. Open. Just saying, it worked pretty well at Hazeltine.
