Many consider Sergio Garcia to be the hottest player on the European Tour right now. Certainly his victory at the 2017 Masters rocketed him into the highest echelon. But Garcia’s reputation isn’t based alone on his stellar performance at Augusta National.

Garcia has 13 European Tour victories on his resume and he’s played on every European Ryder Cup team since 1999 except 2010; and the Masters was his second 2017 victory. Although he’s been playing a light schedule this year, with only five European Tour starts (that include the Masters and the U.S. Open), Garcia’s performance at Erin Hills last week, a respectable T21 finish, didn’t reveal any rust on his game.

Garcia is a little bit better than average off the tee but he’s devilishly accurate, and that will serve him well in Munich. He’s very good at getting where he needs to be – he ranks 3rd in GIR – which keeps him ahead of the field most of the time. Will he contend at the BMW International? Certainly. Will he win? Ours is a game that’s very unpredictable – Garcia will be a threat and will challenge for the top of the board.
