Rory McIlroy is making a rare appearance at this year’s Travelers Championship, but does he make sense as a fantasy option?

After last year’s Olympic detour, the Travelers Championship has returned to its regular spot on the schedule. PGA TOUR players and fans alike should be happy about the return to normal — golf is golf no matter what week it is, but after the hustle and bustle of the U.S. Open, this event always serves as a satisfying comedown.

Maybe that’s why we’ve got such a good field on our hands this week. Rory McIlroy, Jordan Spieth and Jason Day — none of them regulars at the Travelers Championship — will all be in Connecticut this week, giving this normally low-key tournament a ton of added buzz. Once hailed as the new Big 3, each has had his share of struggles this season, but this looks like an ideal opportunity to regain some mojo.

But do McIlroy, Spieth and Day make any sense as fantasy options this week? They are light on course experience, after all. In the following slides, you’ll find some interesting alternatives to the most prominent names in the field.

Without further ado, let’s get to my picks. Here are five solid bets for fantasy success at the Travelers Championship. Each player’s DraftKings salary is listed next to his name.
