European Tour: HNA Open de France top 10 power rankings
Hatton has played a relatively light schedule of 11 events this season, but he’s made the most of them. Little fanfare was made of a really nice stretch of golf from mid-January to mid-March. During that stretch, he placed T-13 or better in five straight stroke-play events and had good chances to win the Omega Dubai Desert Classic, the Honda Classic and Arnold Palmer Invitational.
Like many of the world’s best, Hatton most recently missed the cut at the U.S. Open. With a week off and two weeks off before Erin Hills, Hatton should be rested coming into a tournament in which he’s played solidly the previous two years.
He tied for 33rd in 2016 and tied for 12th in 2015. Also, at No. 22 in the world, Hatton is the fifth-highest ranked player in the field. With only one career win on Tour, Hatton can go a long way to vindicate his high ranking with a win here.
