European Tour: HNA Open de France top 10 power rankings
Alex Norén’s record in majors remains shaky, but there really is no other way to criticize the fantastic play of late from the Swede. He established himself nicely against an elite field by winning May’s BMW PGA Championship by two.
Since last July, no one has more worldwide wins than Norén, who has five. The 2016 Open de France wasn’t one of them, but he wasn’t far off the pace. Norén took eighth place and was shy a low round or two from contending for the title.
Many of Norén’s wins have come on more traditional parkland style courses and Le Golf National fits the bill. He’s also been perfect in making the cut in 2017 in non-major, 72-hole stroke play events.
If he doesn’t win, another high finish appears in order for Norén to continue his upward trend that has him at a career- best No. 8 in the world.
