European Tour: HNA Open de France top 10 power rankings
It’s been feast or famine of late for Fleetwood, but the feasts have been a bit more numerous. The Englishman has missed three of his last seven cuts, but I’m here to focus on the positives: second place at the Shenzhen International, fourth at the U.S. Open and a T-6 at last week’s BMW International Open.
Playing next to Brooks Koepka in the final round of the U.S. Open made Fleetwood look short off the tee, but, in reality, he can still mash it. Combine his 300-plus-yard average off the tee with 11th and third ranks in driving accuracy and greens in regulation, respectively, on Tour and you’ll see few are hitting it better these days than Fleetwood.
The long-haired lad lacks a healthy track record in France — three missed cuts dating back to 2012 — but he’s turned a corner on Tour and has fared well at other courses that gave him fits in his younger days.
Already a winner this year in Abu Dhabi, Fleetwood could do wonders to impress Captain Bjorn with a win as he aims to make his first Ryder Cup team.
