Billy Hurley III pulled off a memorable victory at last year’s Quicken Loans National, but he’ll be dealing with an unfamiliar course this time around.

Professional golf is immensely difficult to predict, but every now and then, the chalk comes out on top in a big way. That’s exactly what happened at last week’s Travelers Championship, where Jordan Spieth holed out from a greenside bunker to take down fellow elite Daniel Berger in a sudden death playoff. Now, with those fireworks in the rearview mirror, the PGA TOUR will head down to the Mid-Atlantic region for one of its invitational events, the Quicken Loans National.

But despite the National’s exclusive status, this event has struggled to draw a top-tier field in recent years. It’s still hosted by Tiger Woods, but the 14-time major champion’s absence from competition seems to have put a damper on the whole operation. Rickie Fowler is the only top 10 player slated to be in town, a far cry from past editions of the tournament.

Those who aren’t in attendance will miss out on a long look at a relatively unfamiliar course. TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm, once reviled for its clunky and inefficient design, underwent significant renovations 10 years ago, so it should provide a fresh challenge for everyone, even those veterans of the old Kemper Open.

Without further ado, let’s get to my picks for this week. Here are five solid bets for fantasy success at the Quicken Loans National. As always, each player’s DraftKings salary is listed next to his name.
