Patrick Reed is the third-highest-ranked player in the field at the Quicken Loans National this week at No. 17 and is coming off two really good weeks. He climbed the leaderboard on Saturday at the U.S. Open to get himself into contention before eventually finishing tied for 13th and followed it up with a T-5 this past weekend at the Travelers Championship, finishing just three shots out of the playoff between Jordan Spieth and Daniel Berger. Reed will be looking to ride that momentum into TPC Potomac and improve upon the T-39 finish at this event a season ago.

2011 FedExCup champ Bill Haas has also been playing some nice golf lately with three consecutive top-25 finishes. Following a rough patch of three consecutive missed cuts, Haas tied for 12th at the Dean & DeLuca Invitational, tied for 25th at the Memorial and then had a great week at Erin Hills, finishing tied for fifth at 10-under and shooting in the 60s on the final three days. Haas’ last win on the PGA TOUR came at the Humana Challenge in January 2015 so he’s about due for a big win. He came close last year at this event, finishing tied for third.

Another FedExCup winner, 2014 champ Billy Horschel, rounds out this trio and it will be interesting to see which version of Horschel we get this week as he’s played some very up-and-down golf over the past few months. He finished tied for fourth at The Honda Classic, then missed the cut at the Valspar and followed that with a T-13 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Following a tie for 55th in Houston, Horschel missed three straight cuts but then went out and won the AT&T Byron Nelson in a playoff over Jason Day. He followed up with a T-34 at the Dean & DeLuca, missed the cut at the Memorial, finished tied for fourth in Memphis at the FedEx St. Jude Classic and then missed the cut at the U.S. Open. So it’s really hard to say how Billy Horschel will perform this week. He’s never boring, that’s for sure.
