HARTFORD, WI – JUNE 13: Tyrrell Hatton of England plays his shot on the 16th hole during a practice round prior to the 2017 U.S. Open at Erin Hills on June 13, 2017 in Hartford, Wisconsin. (Photo by Andrew Redington/Getty Images) /

Tyrrell Hatton is beginning to show he’s human. Aside from the Masters, the Englishman has made every cut since September, compiling five top-fives, including a win, in that span.

Most recently, he missed the cut at the U.S. Open and last week’s HNA Open de France. I’m of the belief that Hatton is legit, and this is the perfect week for him to reestablish himself and land his first high finish since March.

Hatton has done very well on links courses. He tied for fifth at the Open Championship and won the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in 2016. He’s also nearly won the Irish Open, placing T4 in 2015 and T5 in 2016, albeit on different courses.

Rain is in the early forecast on Thursday and Friday, which would suit Hatton just fine, per a 2016 interview with the Telegraph.

"My best performances have always been on links, whether as an amateur or professional. One of the strengths of my short game is that when conditions get tough I can grind out a decent score, and conditions have been pretty tough this week."
