Thornberry Creek LPGA Classic

Aussie Katherine Kirk is on fire. There’s just no other way to explain what happened during moving day at Thornberry Creek. Although Ashleigh Buhai and Ayako Uehara matched Kirk’s third round 65 that wasn’t enough to catch her. Kirk’s starting Sunday at 20-under par and with a four shot lead over Buhai.

There’s a lot of good golf being played at Thornberry Creek just a bit further down the leaderboard. Veteran Cristie Kerr and rookie Angel Yin are sharing fifth place with a virtual mob that also includes Suzann Pettersen, Tiffany Joh, Jodi Ewart Shadoff and Sandra Gal. At 12-under par, little short of a golf miracle or a major breakdown by Kirk will get any of them to the top of the board, but Thornberry Creek is producing some fine shots.

Fourth round play begins this morning at 8:22am CT. Kirk, Buhai, and Uehara tee off at 10:45am. Follow this link for Sunday’s pairings and tee times. Golf Channel begins coverage of the final round at 5:30pm ET.
