WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, WV – JULY 07: Danny Lee tees off the 17th hole during round two of The Greenbrier Classic held at the Old White TPC on July 7, 2017 in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. (Photo by Jared C. Tilton/Getty Images) /

Danny Lee could have had a better start to this year, to say the least. In his first ten starts of the 2016-17 season, Lee missed five cuts, withdrew from the OHL Classic at Mayakoba due to severe migraines, and withdrew once again at Pebble Beach. The three times he made the cut, his best finish was a tie for 41st in the CareerBuilder Challenge.

Things started to change in March. Playing seven tournaments in eight weeks, Lee scored four top-25 finishes. Since missing the cut at The PLAYERS Championship, Lee’s found yet another gear, finishing in the top-ten four times in his last seven starts.

This past weekend at the Greenbrier, Lee tied for ninth place, largely on the back of some outstanding ball-striking. Ranked second in the field in strokes gained – tee-to-green, and ninth in greens in regulation, Lee performed in spite of some relatively shaky putting. Look for that to turn around quickly at TPC Deere Run, where Lee should be ready to make a move.
