Scottish Open top 10 power rankings
There’s no denying that Rickie Fowler is one of the hottest golfers on the planet right now. A win at the Honda Classic in March, a T11 at the Masters, T5 at the U.S. Open and four other top-10s in 2017 has ascended the American to No. 10 in the world.

He also returns to a country that’s treated him well. Fowler went sub-70 in all four rounds to win at Gullane Golf Club in 2015. He tied for eighth in his only other Scottish Open start in 2014.
Fowler’s links track record extends well to the Open Championship, too. The 28-year-old is 6-for-7 making the cut, featuring a T5 in 2011 and T2 in 2014.
On the PGA TOUR this season, Fowler is second in total strokes gained (2.122) and lacks any major holes in his game, statistics-wise. He’s first in stroke average (69.161) and should handle Dundonald’s pot bunkers without much of a sweat (71.26 save percentage, 1st).
His biggest flaw (and occasionally a strength) in his career has been his aggressiveness. A double-bogey into the hazard on No. 14 derailed his title chances two weeks ago at the Quicken Loans National, where he finished two adrift in a tie for third.
“I’ve been playing well,” Fowler was quoted by USA Today. “I feel like I played well all year, getting the win at Honda and getting myself in contention at both majors and continuing to have good finishes.”
