Scott is the anti-Patrick Reed as far as reps go. The Aussie values quality over quantity as he’s made just 11 starts in 2017 and no more than 25 in a calendar year since 2010.

In years past, Scott often skipped the tournament prior to a major but has reversed course in 2017. He missed the cut at the Houston Open prior to the Masters and tied for 10th at the FedEx St. Jude Classic before the U.S. Open.

Scott hasn’t been in the mix to win this year, but nine made cuts with four top-10s, including a T9 at the Masters, has him primed to break through soon.

As far as the Scottish Open goes, the good news is that Scott has made the cut in his last three starts, which all resulted in top-25s. The neutralizer? He hasn’t teed it up here since 2009.

He can benefit by having to learn the new course along with the rest of the field. If this week proves anything like his past Open Championship performances, Scott will feel right at home.

He’s made seven straight cuts at the Open, including a string of three top-fives from 2012-14 (just don’t ask why he didn’t win in 2012).

Scott is one of, if not the best, ball striker in any event he plays and could hold up well if the winds blow.
