Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open

There’s a battle brewing at Dundonald Links today. The field fought wind and rain on Saturday and very few were able to find their way to the red numbers. Ian Poulter and Andrew Dodt, however, both carded one-under 71s and pulled even with Callum Shinkwim, who shot even par to stay steady at 9-under for the Open.

Andy Sullivan managed the challenging conditions quite nicely and with his 5-under 67 rocketed up the board to 7-under for this morning’s start, trailing now by only two shots.

Behind Sullivan, Paul Dunne, Johan Carlsson, and Ryan Fox, who also carded sub-par third rounds, start the final round at 6-under. And a mob of players starting today at 5-under – Richard Bland, Andrew Johnston and Anthony Wall, Rickie Fowler, Matt Kuchar, Rafa Cabrera Bello, Graeme McDowel, Alexander Knappe, and Bernd Ritthammer – are still within reach of Poulter, Dodt, and Shinkwin.

Clearly, Beef Johnston enjoyed his jump up the board on Saturday!

Final round play begins at in near-ideal weather conditions at10am local time (GMT +1) and Dodt and Poulter, playing in the final group, tee off at 3:35pm local time. Golf Channel begins broadcast of the Scottish Open final round at 10am ET this morning.
