If you believe in riding the hot hand, Lamb is the highest finisher available from last week’s John Deere Classic.
While he was never in contention to win, Lamb surged with a Sunday 66 to finish T3, the rookie’s highest finish on Tour.
He also placed T17 a few weeks at the Travelers Championship and is making a playoff push after sitting outside the top 200 just last week.
Lamb doesn’t have a putter like Baddeley (190th strokes gained putting), but it was working last week. He had a positive strokes gained putting mark in three of four rounds, including a gaudy 3.025 Sunday. He can also seek to overpower the 7,302-yard track that’s about average length on Tour. Lamb is 13th in total driving and pipes it over 300 yards off the tee.
This is Lamb’s third start in a row. With only 14 starts on the Web.com Tour and PGA TOUR, though, potential burnout shouldn’t be as big of an issue as with others.
