Barbasol Championship: Top 10 power rankings
It’s a shame to see DLIII here at the Barbasol instead of the Open Championship, but there’s no shame in the 53-year-old’s game of late.
He took it pretty easy post-Ryder Cup, but is back with a vengeance. Love will make the short trek from Sea Island to Alabama for his third start in a row and eighth in 2017.
Love proved he can still go low with the round of the tournament two weeks ago at The Greenbrier, a Thursday 63, en route to a T29 harmed only by a closing 75. He followed it up with a T77 last week at the John Deere Classic.
It’s easy to argue that Love lacks the firepower to go low for four rounds. Eighteen- and 19-under were the winning marks in the last two years, but we were proven wrong when he became one of the oldest to win on Tour not long ago at age 51 at the 2015 Wyndham Championship.
This is Love’s first time at the Barbasol.
