Stallings leads the way at the Barbasol Championship

Scott Stallings came rocketing up up the Barbasol leaderboard Saturday and with an eye-popping 11-under third round is going into Sunday’s final round at 19-under par and one shot clear of Grayson Murray.

Rookie Murray is have a very fine tournament. The Arizona State product is making quite a splash at his Barbasol debut.

Saturday was a career low for the 32-year old Stallings who, despite his T5 finish at the John Deere last week, has struggled to make cuts this year. Stallings’ most recent PGA TOUR victory came at the 2014 Farmers Insurance Open, so he know what he needs to do today and despite his recent performance, he knows how to do it.

Ben Martin also made a move on Saturday. Five consecutive birdies and a 64 on his card got him up inside the top 6 going into the final round and trailing Stallings by six shots. That’s a big gap to close in 18 holes but Martin had a hot hand Saturday. If he can carry it over to today, catching Stallings is possible.

Keep an eye on Sam Burns today. The 20-year old amateur is going into Sunday at 13-under, alongside Ben Martin and very much in the Sunday mix.

Golf Channel begins the Barbasol Championship final round broadcast at 2pm ET.
