Our first Canadian in the power rankings is Graham DeLaet. Known as one of the best on TOUR without a win, DeLaet hasn’t exactly made his best runs at victory on home turf.

Aside from a T7 in 2014, his best finish is a T46 with three missed cuts in six starts to go with a missed cut.

Still, that T7 came at Glen Abbey as DeLaet was under par in all four rounds. His second round 63 was one off the course record.

Coming off of a relatively quiet 2016, DeLaet is safely in the Playoffs and can improve his standing if he makes his fifth cut in six starts in recent weeks.

If this week was at one of the tougher host sites like Shaughnessy with thick rough, DeLaet’s 202nd rank in strokes gained around the green would be a deterrent. Without too much trouble lurking at Glen Abbey, DeLaet can get in the mix with a good ballstriking week.

He’s top 25 on Tour in strokes gained off the tee (22nd, .552), approaching the green (23rd, .534) and putting (25th, .414). Those seem like the numbers of a guy not far off from contending. A T10 at the Memorial and T6 at the Heritage show he’s right there.
