Ladies Scottish Open top-10 power rankings
The Ladies Scottish Open field is drawing a balance of LET and LPGA players and my power rankings draw from the top players on both Tours.
The Ladies Scottish Open returns to Dundonald Links this week, for the first time co-sanctioned by the Ladies European Tour and the LPGA. France’s Isabelle Boineau is the defending champion.
While some of the game’s notable names are absent the field, the Ladies Scottish Open is headlined by five major champions: So Yeon Ryu, Lydia Ko, Suzann Pettersen, Michelle Wie, and Ariya Jutanugarn.
Just below the headliners there’s a strong field of hopeful contenders, including many of the top candidates for the 2017 European and United States Solheim Cup teams as well as a bevy of top Asian players in the women’s game and some very promising young players on both tours.
Working across the two Tours to identify the top of the field has proved very challenging.
Players can expect typical summer Scottish weather throughout the Open – daytime temperatures in the 60s (F) with a bit of rain and a bit of sun with winds gusting to about 30 mph, sometimes from the southern direction and at other times westerly.
Be sure to visit the Ladies Scottish Open website. There are some lovely videos and helpful backstory articles for those who are following the tournament from afar.
Now, let’s take a look at the top of the field as the Ladies Scottish Open field comes to the first tee..
