Florentyna Parker missed the cut at the U.S. Women’s Open at Trump National earlier this month but I have a feeling that she, like Mel Reid, has a game more acclimated to links than parkland-style tracks.
Parker leads the LET Order of Merit because she’s quite a solid competitor. She outplayed two of the best in the women’s game, Carlota Ciganda and Anna Nordqvist, to notch her playoff victory at the 2017 Estrella Damm Mediterranean Open and I think that victory is a much better indicator of the state of her game than her performance at Bedminster.
Parker is bringing a solid, all-around game to Dundonald Links and she’s also bringing the confidence that comes from a successful recent history at the Ladies Scottish Open. Parker, like a number of the European players in the field and in my power rankings, will be playing in her comfort zone. I look for her to play well.
