Suzann Pettersen hasn’t quite gotten her game warmed up if her 2017 LPGA starts are an indication. However, given the depth of her experience, her demonstrated ability to deliver a championship-level game in both parkland and links-style tracks, and the competitive energy she brings to the tee, I’m looking for Pettersen to turn it on this week.

Pettersen hasn’t missed a cut at an LPGA start since the Founders Cup last March and she finished runner up at the Lalla Meyrem Cup, her only LET start this season.

The Norwegian is powerful if a bit erratic off the tee but she’s able to move the ball toward the green even when she hits trouble. She currently ranks 22nd on the Tour in GIR. That’s the kind of game that will let her work her way around Dundonald Links effectively.

If her flatstick is working – and I know that’s not always the case – Pettersen will be hard to beat. Certainly, given her success at the Ladies Scottish Open – a runner-up in 2015 – she’ll be aiming for the top of the board this week.
