When Cristie Kerr’s in the field she plays to win, whether or not she’s injured. As we saw at the U..S. Women’s Open, all it takes is a little on-course physio.

With a win at the LOTTE Championship and five additional top-10 finishes, Kerr’s having a solid season. She followed up a missed cut at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship with a T5 at the inaugural Thornberry Classic and a top-20 at the U.S. Women’s Open, and then took a week off. She’s coming to Dundonald Links rested and ready to recalibrate her game to the Scottish links and be fully tuned up for the Ricoh Women’s British Open.

Kerr’s at her best around the green and on the putting surface. She ranks 4th on the Tour in putts per GIR (1.74) and 3rd in putting average (28.62 putts per round).

Like several Americans in my power rankings, this is Kerr’s Ladies Scottish Open debut, but I don’t view her lack of experience with the golf course or her lack of a history with the event as disadvantages. She’s a well-traveled, versatile player with a sturdy game than moves easily between venues. I’ll enjoy watching her navigate and tame this one.
