Even with stars like Dustin Johnson and Matt Kuchar in action, plenty of sleepers will look to make their mark at the 2017 RBC Canadian Open.

The RBC Canadian Open technically moves through a rotation of courses around the country. With a wide variety of high-quality courses from Quebec to British Columbia, though, one sticks out above the rest. Of course, that one is Glen Abbey Golf Club in Oakville, Ontario.

The Jack Nicklaus-designed course was opened for play in 1976. Playing to 7,273 yards and a par-72, the course features relatively small greens, challenging even the longest hitters in the field to be precise on approach.

This year’s field is highlighted by world No. 1 Dustin Johnson and Open Championship runner-up Matt Kuchar, both strong contenders in their own right. But when you’re looking for dark horses, there are more than enough out there who can challenge for the title. There is no one winning formula that’s been proven over the years, and that opens the field up dramatically.

As usual, this week’s sleepers column will look at players outside the world’s top 50 in the most recent Official Ranking, and players who have yet to win on the PGA TOUR in 2016-17. With no further ado, let’s get it started.
