Kevin Kisner has been a remarkably steady hand through much of the 2017 PGA TOUR season. With his victory at the DEAN & DELUCA Invitational, runner-up finishes at the Zurich Classic and the Arnold Palmer Invitational, and three more top-tens, Kisner has earned his spot among the season’s best.

Recently, however, Kisner has taken a bit of a slide with his results. In his last four starts since finishing in sixth place at the Memorial Tournament, Kisner has earned just 22 FedEx Cup points. A missed cut at the Greenbrier kept him off the board entirely. Sub-50th place showings at the U.S. Open and the Open Championship didn’t do him any favors, either.

With a remaining schedule that includes the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational and the PGA Championship, there’s certainly a chance for Kisner to move up in the rankings, but I’m finding it much more likely, barring a victory, that he stays in the range of ninth to 11th place.

Kisner will get his points somewhere, but the gaps are simply too cushioned for him to move too far either direction without something big happening. That’s not a bad thing, of course. If you told most players they’d enter the Playoffs with their card already punched to the TOUR Championship, I’m pretty sure they’d take you up on it, with few exceptions.
