Golf Links connects you to Friday morning’s golf news: get ready for cut day at the pro events and check in on other news that keeps the golf world keeps turning.

The ProGolfNow Golf Links column provides a quick way to get your Friday morning golf news and stay on top of the game, wherever it’s being played.

The pros are playing this week in Oakville, Ontario, Hamburg, Germany, North Ayrshire, Scotland, and Bridgend, Wales. We’ll get you ready for cut day at the European Tour’s Senior Open Championship and Porsche European Open, at the PGA TOUR’s RBC Canadian Open, and the LPGA-LET co-sanctioned Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open.

There are weather problems everywhere this week so play is being complicated by some very testing conditions.

We’ll also do our part to help Jordan Spieth celebrate his 24th birthday and take a look at Allen Shipnuck’s suggestion that the USGA and R&A consider lengthening championship courses to as much as 9,000 yards because the pros have just gotten too good to be challenged any anything shorter.
