Most newlyweds of means will spend their honeymoon week in some secluded paradise. If the city life calls, perhaps something along the lines of Paris, Sydney or Honolulu beckons. If you’re Sergio Garcia, though, business calls, and he’ll enjoy his first week of wedded bliss at beautiful Firestone Country Club.

It’s hard to know just how much work Garcia has been doing lately, as he went straight from the Open to his nuptials with his new bride, Angela. He’s played just twice since the U.S. Open: he finished runner-up at the BMW International Open, and then tied for 37th at the Open a month later.

Garcia has a solid history to draw on at Firestone to make up for any relative rust he may have collected in recent weeks. In 15 career appearances, Garcia has just two top-tens, but eight top-25 finishes overall.

Sergio has been in good shape seemingly everywhere he’s teed it up this year, not missing a cut anywhere since last year’s PGA Championship. He’s plenty long, averaging about 300 yards off the tee, and Garcia’s ball-striking has been even better. Ranked seventh in greens-in-regulation and third in adjusted scoring, Garcia may be adding yet another trophy to his home at week’s end.
