The WGC-Bridgestone Invitational adds a few important twists to your DraftKings lineup strategy, with a limited field facing no cut at Firestone

The WGC-Bridgestone Invitational is the final tune-up for golf’s elite heading into the PGA Championship. But for DraftKings daily fantasy golf players, it’s more than that. The limited-field event at Firestone Country Club adds some unique twists that can change how you approach your team.

Like all World Golf Championship event, the field consists of just 76 of the world’s top players. Moreover, there is no cut, meaning every player will be around to play the weekend. From a daily fantasy perspective, that’s huge: even a bad start from one of your “can’t-miss” players won’t bury him entirely. Birdies all count the same, even if a player can’t earn you a top-finish bonus.

While the natural inclination in these top-heavy tournaments is to look for the stars – Jordan Spieth and Dustin Johnson highlight the field at Firestone – there’s actually a remarkable level of value available, if you’re willing to look for it. There’s no such thing as a “no name” player in the field, and that makes things a whole lot more fun.

As usual, this article is based on DraftKings pricing and lineups – working into a $50,000 salary cap with six golfers on your roster. If you play on a different site, you can take the same advice, but you may need to adjust for pricing. And, of course, this isn’t meant to be a full lineup, merely advice on what to look for when picking your own team.

Let’s jump into this week’s breakdown, working from the lowest price on up.
