WGC-Bridgestone Invitational: Top five DraftKings daily fantasy picks
The 33-year-old Spaniard is currently 16th in the Official World Ranking, but can be had at a price more fitting of a middle-of-the-pack type of player. Just on price alone, Cabrera Bello should be a must-buy player at Firestone.
Of course, you want more than price when you’re building your DraftKings lineup. You want return on investment. There’s not a ton of course history to draw on here. Rafa made his Firestone debut in 2012, and he was tied for second through two rounds, with opening scores of 66-65.
Firestone has a tendency to bite back at times, and it did for Cabrera Bello that year. Weekend scores of 77-73 took him from nine-under to one-over, and tied for 29th place. He’ll have to remember the lessons from five years ago as he aims to improve in 2017.
Better yet, Cabrera Bello heads to Akron in fantastic form. Three weeks ago, he bounced back from a missed cut at the Irish Open to win the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open. Then, he kept the streak going, tying for fourth at the Open Championship, in the mix with everyone not named Jordan Spieth or Matt Kuchar.
If you’re looking for pure value in this week’s WGC field, you won’t find much better than what Cabrera Bello is offering.
